My fiber journey began in childhood. I was exposed to the bead and leather embroidery of the People of the Southern Plains and these textures, materials, patterns, ways of making. I began weaving in 1968, and my horizons widened through study at Kansas City Art Institute. I took this with me to California and completed an MFA at San Francisco State University. Weaving has always yielded more for me, whether as art tapestry or functional decorative arts.
