About

Rachel Helden is a photo-based artist from St. Louis, Missouri. She is a healing through the arts advocate, educator, museum professional, and is the host of CreativeMornings St. Louis. She studied Photography at School of Visual Arts (MFA), Photography and Digital Imaging at Ringling College of Art and Design (BFA), and was a Landis Artist-in-Residence at Yellowstone National Park with Yellowstone Forever.

Artist Statement

Rachel's work encourages softness in grief, discovering joy through creativity, and exploring the healing power of nature. Recent work includes documenting the aftermath of a tornado that came through St. Louis in 2025, hosting a podcast: Grief Reset, where guests speak candidly about their own loss and healing, and an illustrated memoir: "Free Way: An Adventure Through Loss", about a solo road trip she took to all 50 states after going through a divorce and her father’s passing.
